Three Englishmen in a Boat

from our crime corr in in O'Donovan's;

Did you hear the one about the three englishmen in a boat ? What rotten luck to have €440,000,000 worth of cocaine and then mistake petrol for diesel. As the prosecution would have it "With picaresque digressions and asides, Jerome depicts the group's attempts to keep themselves afloat and cope with the English weather" I know, Jerome was not the prosecutor. And it was West Cork.
And that was surely the unkindest rub of all. To be an Englishman up before the beak - in Cork, land of many monuments to the fight for 'freedom' from the English yoke.
